Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! For our second seasonal episode of 2023, we're covering not one, but TWO favourites of the festive season that I'm sure you all love as much as we do - 1990's Home Alone and the 1992 follow-up, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
As we go through comparing both these movies in our typical loose fashion, we also talk about where else the noir movie within the movie crops up, encountering an unintentional jump scare, and ultimately getting down to what makes the sequel stand out as Paul's preference...

Let the festivities begin! For the first Christmas themed review of 2023, we're both taking a look at something new(ish) and hip (maybe?) with a Netflix original movie named Love Hard (combo of Love Actually and Die Hard) starring Nina Dobrev.
Does this film deliver something different from the regular holiday season flicks, or fall into the same trappings as you'd expect?? As part of the discussion, we also go over our own experiences with online dating, the impact of celebrity deaths, and try to pinpoint what constitutes as a Christmas movie based off previous episodes...

Just before the festive flicks start up for this year, this episode we're covering a cult fantasy movie classic full of memorable characters and quotable lines, that surely will tick all the right boxes for Sophie's sensibilities. Or is it perhaps... inconceivable??
As well as going over the love story of Westley and Buttercup, we contemplate what is the true moral of the tale, touch upon where we see similarities with another cinematic fairytale story, and a fairy is spotted by Sophie from a more seasonal movie...

After the horrors of Halloween, it's time to settle down with something a bit more lighthearted and poignant. That particular role with shoes to fill is little Marcel, a 1 inch shell who we believe will capture our hearts - and you can listen in to find out if he did!
