As spooky season '23 draws to a close, Paul decided to really test Sophie's mettle with the scariest movie of all time - The Exorcist, directed by the late great William Friedkin who sadly passed away this year, which makes this episode even more poignant.
So listen in to hear Sophie's thoughts on this frightening experience, as well as her epiphany on fear during the daytime or nighttime, how she wasn't too concerned for Father Merrin's wellbeing, and her very own vomiting trauma!

For our third episode of Spooky season '23, we tune into the BBC for a infamous broadcast that goes by the name of Ghostwatch - but will it put the spooks on Sophie?
As well as going into the history of the made for TV movie (and the subsequent aftermath), Paul attempts to put on a terrible Welsh accent, we reminisce on how creepy the last house we lived in was, and Sophie tells a ghostly tale of her own!

In our second episode of Spooky season '23, we head over to Japan for Sophie to experience the absurdity and delights that 1977's horror comedy Hausu (or House) from Nobuhiko Obayashi has to offer.
There's proper researched background history on the movie to delve into, discussing of our favourite from the 7 girls, taking note of the noteable subtitle name translations, and of course Sophie's opinion on the whole venture!!

Spooky season is upon us once again, and for our first outing we're heading out to Summerisle for Sophie to see what The Wicker Man is all about. Although she does have her own (amusing) ideas of what the movie entails...
We also bring to the table our thoughts with the clash of religion and rituals, how the soundtrack really sets the tone of folk horror, and Sophie's gripes with the performance of Britt Ekland...

We watched a Wes Anderson film, thanks to the Patreons who picked out of two choices that neither of us had seen before - and the winner was 2001's The Royal Tenenbaums.
We've had our ups and downs with his filmography, but will this pip our respective top spots of this director's work? Listen in to find out what we make of this dysfunctional family, and whether Ben Stiller's performance specifically was irritating at all to Sophie...
