In the past we've covered Paul's favourite Marvel character in the movies, now it's finally time to discuss his favourite in the DC universe. It might not be the whole trilogy we're covering, but it's a phenomenal place to start with Christopher Nolan's 2008 epic; The Dark Knight!
As well as talking about the film's themes, musical score and portrayal of the Joker, Sophie provides a couple anecdotes in relation to the movie, reveals her most hated character, and provides her own synopsis for the movie! Oh, and there's a few Batman and Joker impersonations from us both...

Sophie and Paul take a 'Chance' on this first time watch for the both of us, as we discuss the 1979 satirical comedy-drama Being There, starring Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine.
It's another film from the Criterion collection, but does that hold it in good stead? Is there much gardening going on? And are the themes that film runs with just as prevalent today? Plus, listen in to hear our thoughts on how this may not be a fary cry from the previous episode...

The shoe is on the other foot for the comedy movie Patreon picks in this episode, to which Sophie has some thoughts on... SuperBAD or SuperGOOD? Place you bets now!
But like with The Heat review, there is hilarity to be found in this recording (not just from the content within the film??) as we compare it to other movies of the genre, we reveal Paul's desktop wallpaper he had as a youth, and the overall absurdness of the drinking age in the U.S.!

A movie that may have fit right at home within our previous years of Monster March, this episode we tackle a film that we are both exploring for the first time - Where The Wild Things Are!
Based on the children's book by Maurice Sendak and adapted for screen by Spike Jonze, we delve into topics of 'inner demons', snowball fights, and overall how we feel it works as a movie for kids (and maybe even for adults too in the greater scheme of things...)

Wassan? It's a nautical themed episode for a movie that Sophie hasn't seen before, and it's the debut experimental drama from Mark Jenkin called Bait, set in a British coastal town in Cornwall and cited by Mark Kermode as 'a genuine modern masterpiece'.
Knowing that Sophie has a keen interest in old style photography and appreciation for the art, I edge my bets with having her give her thoughts on this film, and therefore find out if Kermode's statement rings true!
(Also, apparently there was a 2012 Australian shark movie that goes by the same name? - hence the brackets for the title)

We jumped on the hype train for the summer blockbuster event of recent years, and decided to watch Oppenheimer and Barbie at the cinema, in order to bring you our thoughts on both in the form of Barbenheimer!
